ADHD or life? - A couples perspective!
Is it ADHD or is it F.O.M.O? (Fear of Missing Out)
New episode out now! 🎙️ This week on ADHD or Life – A Couple’s Perspective, Adam and Donna dive headfirst into the chaos of FOMO, with their usual mix of honesty, laughs, and a healthy dose of “did that really just happen?”
Adam kicks things off with a classic: should this episode really be called “Is it ADHD or is the grass always greener?”
Man flu diaries: ADHD hits hard this week with lost car keys, taxi drama, ignoring the kids (oops), and the epic struggle to change the TV remote batteries.
Main topic: Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) – that constant itch for something else, the urge to be everywhere at once, and how social media turns it up to eleven.
Is FOMO just part of ADHD, or does everyone get hit by it?
Settling vs. seeking: Is the grass really greener, or are we just chasing after shinier things? (Speaking of which: Adam reveals he only realised he had issues when someone else’s pool balls were shinier than his. Yes, we’re talking about actual pool balls here… but the innuendo is strong. Should Adam just be happy with his own shiny balls? Donna’s not convinced.)
How RSD (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria) and guilt fuel those FOMO feelings.
Leaving jobs, impulsivity, and doing “extensive homework” before making a totally rash decision.
Saying yes to everything at work, difficulty prioritising, and that endless craving for novelty.
Can you admit when you’ve made the wrong choice, or does your ego get in the way?
Recovery, finding serenity, and the magic of mindfulness, breathing exercises, and meditation. (Plus, Meatloaf makes a surprise appearance – the singer, not the dinner, but honestly, who knows anymore.)
Is it okay to just stay in and sit on the couch? Does parenthood crank up the FOMO, or is this just life?
Adam’s big wisdom: Sometimes, wanting is better than getting. Donna’s verdict: Maybe FOMO is just part of being human.
5 Minute Moans:
Adam’s e-cig saga (the baby gets involved, naturally)
Donna’s ongoing struggle: having to ask permission for a Mars bar
